The NYCLA Task Force on Judicial Budget Cuts will hold a
day-long public hearing on
Monday, December 2 to receive testimony about the continuing impact of judicial budget cuts on the administration of justice from leaders of the bench and bar.
Various panels will discuss:
• The impact of the budget cuts on the state courts and its impact on children, families and the public
• The impact of the budget cuts on the federal courts including court operations, criminal defense, public safety, and the administration of justice along with the impact of these cuts on bankruptcy, business, and consumers
• The view from the bar
The hearing follows up on a recent Task Force report on the effects of budget cuts on the federal courts in the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.
