CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR PAST BOARD MEMBERS ON THEIR RECENT ELECTION TO NEW YORK STATE'S JUDICIARY
The Dominican Bar Association would like to wholeheartedly congratulate past DBA Board members Judge Julia Rodriguez,
Mary V. Rosado and
Denise M. Dominguez on their recent election to New York State's judiciary.
Judge Julia Rodriguez' election to the Supreme Court, Bronx County, is not only a great personal achievement, but also historic, since it marks the first time in the Bronx's history that a person of Dominican descent has been elected to the Supreme Court. To the extent that Latinos are still grossly underepresented in New York State's judiciary, Mary Rosado and Denise Dominguez' election to New York County's Civil Court is, likewise, a great individual accomplishment and more importantly, a substantial step towards ensuring that the judiciary in New York City reflects the people who appear before it.
