Years ago, I received something in the mail about an organization working to elect more pro-choice Democratic women to office.
I thought, "Huh. THAT is a good idea." I pulled out my checkbook and made my first-ever political contribution to EMILY's List.
I had no idea that so many years later, EMILY's List would be one of the very first organizations to call to encourage me to think about running for the United States Senate. And I certainly had no idea that EMILY's List members one day would contribute $1.25 million to my campaign.
