Local 831 President Harry Nespoli said, "We are endorsing Councilwoman Tish James for Public Advocate because Tish has always looked out for our members and all the working men and women without whom New York could not function. Municipal employees are the backbone of our city and we need elected officials who recognize that. As a City Councilwoman, Tish has stood up for everyday New Yorkers and she'll do the same as our next Public Advocate. We are proud to endorse her and look forward to working hard to send Tish James to the Public Advocate's Office."
The Sanitation Workers join the growing movement to support Tish's campaign to become the next Public Advocate of the City of New York. District Council 1707, CWA Local 1180, Local 802 AFM, the UAW and 32BJ have come out and said Tish is the Public Advocate this city needs.
