Today, I received a major endorsement in my campaign to become your next Public Advocate.
This morning, at the Queens County Democratic Headquarters in Forest Hills, I proudly stood next to my friend and supporter, U.S. Representative Joe Crowley, as our campaign received the unanimous endorsement from the Queens County Democratic Party.
Queens represents the future of our city-- our increasingly diverse communities are standing together to make a historic statement by working to elect the first South Asian to a citywide position in the history of New York City politics.
The Queens endorsement shows that our campaign is building incredible momentum, and we will not stop now.
This is the largest party endorsement in the Public Advocate race to date, and carries tremendous influence in city elections, thanks to the Queens Democrats' impressive petitioning, mobilizing, and voter outreach efforts.
I'm so grateful to the Queens Democrats for their support of our growing campaign. We will keep working tirelessly to move our middle class forward. Working with these dedicated leaders, I know we can keep building the momentum that will carry us to victory in the Democratic Primary on September 10.
