When I was told that we were going to be included in the JumpStart program as one of the top races in the country, I was honored. When I found out just how many of you stood up and supported me -- I was just floored. Thank you – I am truly grateful.
The reason I am running for Congress is because I believe we can do more for New York families and we deserve better than Michael Grimm.
That's why when I heard that Congress is doing nothing when we are quickly approaching a date when interest rates for student loans will DOUBLE – well -- it made it even clearer why this race matters.
We need to make sure families can afford to send their children to college and that won't be possible if interest rates double.
We deserve better.
