Moms are #1!
Dear Friends,
This Sunday we celebrate a very special group of people - moms. In my time in public service, I have always been amazed by the incredible commitment mothers make to their families, and the strength and unity they bring to our communities.
Now, as I raise my own two little boys, I think every day about the values my mother wanted for me: courage, character and the importance of hard work. And as a mother, I wonder about the world we are creating for our children and the opportunities they will have in the coming years. Those questions have guided me throughout my career in public service, and are why groups like Emily's List and Eleanor's Legacy are supporting me in my current campaign.
As Queens Borough President, I look forward to fulfilling the promise of a brighter future for all our sons and daughters, to creating opportunities for women, and to working as hard for our mothers as they do for our families and communities.
Please join me in recognizing these incredible mentors, teachers and role models – moms.
