ARE YOU A SEXUALLY ACTIVE GUY?

City Health Department Recommending Sexually Active HIV-Positive Gay and Bisexual Men Obtain Meningitis Vaccine

Several cases of meningitis have been reported among gay and bisexual men in New York and in other cities in North America. The New York City Department of Health is recommending that men who are sexually active with men consult health care providers about getting vaccinated, and that all HIV-positive gay and bisexual men and HIV-negative men who regularly have close or intimate contact with other men met either through an online website, digital app, or at a bar or party should be vaccinated. If you don't feel sick but think you may be at risk, you should talk to your doctor about getting vaccinated. If your provider doesn't have the vaccine, you can visit one of the City's immunization or STD clinics. To learn about where to get vaccinated at a City clinic go to the Health Department's website or call 311 for more information.
