Dear Lucas,
This evening, I and many of us observe Passover, a festival celebrating freedom and justice. This week, many of our neighbors will celebrate Holy Week, including Good Friday and Easter Sunday. As we gather with our families and loved one's to celebrate, I keep in mind that these struggles are not only historical, but real and present in our world and in our city. As I write you, the U.S. Supreme Court is considering whether the family gathered at my table tonight is equal before the law. In City Hall, work continues to ensure that every New York family can take the time needed to care for sick loved ones.
Passover and Easter remind us that while there will always be great obstacles to justice, they can always be overcome. I look forward to working with you to do just that. Chag Sameach, Happy Easter, and a wonderful week to you and your family.
