Friend,
Our campaign for Queens Borough President officially kicked off last week and we're already rocking and rolling. We are racking up endorsements and fundraising dollars, and we've only just begun.
That was clear at our kickoff event last week that drew a diverse crowd from around the borough and all walks of life under the banner of "One Queens." It was an honor to host Rep. Joseph Crowley, Queens County Democratic Chairman and a leader in Washington, who talked about the Vallone tradition and our shared values and commitment to public service.
At that event, we were also proud to roll out the first of what will be many major labor endorsements - the Corrections Officers Benevolent Association.
Getting support from COBA President Norman Seabrook and all of New York's boldest is a huge win for the campaign and sends a powerful message. These men and women are the unsung heroes who help keep us safe. Their support means the world.
The broad support we're receiving – made apparent in an independent poll showing us 11 points up on our nearest competitor - also is demonstrated in our impressive fundraising numbers from the last filing period. We have still raised more than all the other candidates combined.
We'll keep pounding the pavement in Bayside and Far Rockaway and Maspeth and Long Island City and Corona and Ridgewood and Flushing and every other neighborhood that makes Queens such a fantastic place. We will continue to unite Queens residents to fight for what we all care about: safe streets, good schools and getting our fair share from City Hall.
Best,
