Trade Fair: Not only a bad neighbor but now a bad employer
Workers go on unfair labor practice strike
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Trade Fair has committed many unfair labor practices as meat department workers from across nine store locations in Queens excercise their rights as union members of UFCW Local 342 to fight for a fair contract.
Trade Fair has refused to bargain fairly. Instead they have insisted on wage freezes throughout the length of a new contract, cutting workers' hours, taking away workers' Sunday premium pay, and gutting their healthcare benefits.
As a show of solidarity with our workers, I have signed a petition pledging to support them.
While the workers from our community are on strike, I ask that you please help them by not crossing the picket line.
We, as a community, must stand united to make sure our workers' rights and benefits are respected.
