I've entered the race to represent the people of Staten Island and Southern Brooklyn in Congress. I'm running because I believe that now, more than ever, we need leadership in Washington that gets results, leadership that can be trusted, and leadership that is willing to fight for a better future for our district.
While Congress, under the leadership of Speaker John Boehner, delayed a Sandy aid vote for nearly 80 days, I was on the ground working to dig people out from under the storm. I walked the streets day and night delivering food and other relief to families and seniors in need.

While Congress lurches from one fiscal crisis to the next, dragging down our economy with each political charade, I have spent my days and nights working across party lines as Chair of the Council's Finance Committee to deliver a balanced, on-time budget, each and every year. In spending decisions, I've prioritized working families, children, public safety, and economic development, all while paying down the City's debt and without raising taxes.

While Congress spends their time partying on junkets and fending off ethics investigations, I spend my nights around the kitchen table with my wife, Kim, and our three beautiful daughters, worrying about the direction we're headed as a nation.
