EXCERPT - Comptroller John Liu on Friday picked up the endorsement of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 3, a 30,000-member organization with a better-than-average field operation.
"To labor, John Liu is family. He has been fearless and relentless for fairness on behalf of working men and women," Local 3 Business Manager Christopher Erikson said in a statement.
Mr. Erikson added, "He can't stop and won't stop," a reference to Mr. Liu's hard-charging, relentless retail politicking. He also cited Mr. Liu's audits uncovering government waste and his fight for fair wages and pensions as among the reasons for the endorsement.
