Thank you for your continued support of my campaign to serve Queens as your next Borough President.
This past Monday, we sent a clear message to the news media and those speculating on my commitment: I am in this race for the long run and the campaign moves full speed ahead. Folks from all walks of life came out to show that I have the support of the people, who will be the ultimate decision makers when we hit the polls on Primary Day.
The community knows that I have worked tirelessly to help Queens in my 10 plus years in the City Council, and I will continue this work as Borough President. Some highlights of my extensive work include:
•Securing funds for a new wing of the Queens Hospital Center
•Creating jobs by establishing direct-to-work training programs
•Ensuring funding for the Queens Library System
•Allocating over $2 million to Jamaica Hospital for new ambulatory clinics
As the we move forward, we must continue to deliver the message that our campaign has the support of the people. To do this, I need your help to raise funds so that I can run the strongest campaign possible.
Consider a donation of $10, $20, or $50. Do not think that your donations are too small to make a difference: under New York City's campaign finance laws, the city will match small donations up to $175 at a 6-to-1 ratio. That means a $50 donation will be matched with $300 from the city.
