BP MARKOWITZ STATEMENT ON PASSING OF JOHN NOEL
"I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Brooklynite John Noel. In addition to his Emmy-winning reporting for WNBC in New York, as well as WJBK in Detroit and KSDK in St. Louis, John also served his country in the US Air Force before attending Brooklyn College and the University of Missouri school of Journalism. Earlier last year, he spoke candidly about his illness at my office's 'Take Your Man to the Doctor' event—noting how, even after his original diagnosis two years ago, he maintained a never-quit attitude and continued to do what he loved—reporting the news. My thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family as we mourn the passing of a truly great Brooklynite and one of New York's most respected journalists."
