HOT(S)POT?

Craig Melvin sued the State of New York after a fellow inmate allegedly assaulted him with a hotpot.

When the Court of Claims dismissed the case because of the incident's lack of foreseeability, Melvin appealed and the Appellate Division, Fourth Department, agreed that it wasn't predictable that Melvin would be hit with a hotpot--particularly since the guy that attacked him hadn't acted up in over three years and had no history of violence.

Bet he's stewing over that.
