LIU STATEMENT ON HARLEM SHOOTING
New York City Comptroller John C. Liu stated the following in response to questions about a shooting today in Harlem:
"This shooting, which happened steps away from where I stayed Saturday night, hits home. It is yet another wake-up call that the City needs to do more to protect NYCHA residents and neighbors with decent living conditions and stronger measures such as security cameras, which should have been installed at the Lincoln Houses a long time ago but to this day seem mired in bureaucratic red tape and incompetence."
