After the New York County Criminal Court determined that M. Lesta's history of drug and alcohol abuse warranted a "level two sex offender" designation under the law, he took an appeal to the Appellate Term, First Department.
Because it thought Lesta's challenge was "lacking in merit"--particularly since the guy had a "history of drug-related convictions," and admitted to having "problems with marijuana addiction"—the AT1 affirmed the outcome.
