AXE INSTEAD OF A SCALPEL

Lucas,

This week an opinion column in the Times Union pointed out that maybe we're using an "axe instead of a scalpel" with cuts to our budget.

And they're right. Instead of cutting real waste or finding more efficient ways to run government, the Republicans instead are allowing the sequester to continue – which furloughed tens of thousands of our civilian military personnel at the beginning of this month.

These cuts are senseless, and our hard working military families don't deserve to have their wages cut because the GOP leadership won't address the issue. If you agree, will you add your name to our online petition and tell the GOP leadership to address the sequester?

We need to get our military personnel (and many others) back to work and stop playing politics with their livelihoods. Add your name and tell the GOP that we need a sensible solution now.

Sincerely,

Paul
