Once again The South Shore Democratic Club is hosting their annual Essay Contest. The club was able to spread awards of $700 to the students who place first, second and third, in Elementary, JHS and HS as well as Special Education. The title of the 250 word essay is:

"WHAT AMERICA MEANS TO ME"

The contest deadline is February 10th. All correspondence must be mailed to the South Shore Democratic Club (address above) or e-mail: roepower1@gmail.com.

The award ceremony will be held on our scheduled meeting date, February18th, which is George Washington’s Birthday. The Club will present a tribute to George Washington that evening. The meeting starts at 7PM and concludes at 10pm at the Old Bermuda Inn. The students will receive a certificate, a medal and a monetary award. The school will receive a framed certificate of participation. We also invite the students and their relatives to a formal reception as we hand out the awards. An Elected Official will be on hand to present the awards. Cupcakes and cookies and fruit punch will be served.
