Dear New Yorker,
A HUGE thank you to everyone who took part in our Hurricane Sandy relief efforts this past weekend! We appreciate all of your help and support.
This Saturday, January 26th, the NYC Council, the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender (LGBT) Community Center, the Brooklyn Community Pride Center, Gay Men of African Descent and other LGBT groups around the City will be sponsoring an "LGBT Day of Action" to mobilize teams of volunteers to help out in communities impacted by Sandy.
Many of our communities still need help cleaning up after the storm, so we hope you can join us. Our LGBT Day of Action is open to anyone and everyone who wants to help out and lend a hand this weekend.
Our bus will be departing from 250 Broadway in Lower Manhattan at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning and going to one of our affected neighborhoods. If you would like to join us, please RSVP to SandyRelief@council.nyc.gov with your name, email and phone number, and we'll get back to you with additional details.
Again, my sincere and heartfelt thanks to everyone who's given so generously of their time and energy in the aftermath of Sandy. Your actions have made a world of difference in the wake of this storm.
Sincerely,
Christine C. Quinn
