KEEP AMERICA FREE

Friends,

We see taxes going up, regulation expanding, and our healthcare system taken over by the government. Sometimes it's difficult to get past the glaring losses to see conservative victory on any level over the past two years.

Thankfully, our team at American Majority gets to see firsthand the state and local conservative victory taking place across the nation. We regularly come in contact with men and women, both activists and brand new political leaders, who see the problems facing America and step in to become part of the solution. We believe that implementing effective change takes more than a well-meaning leader with "electable" ideas. Competency matters. Communication matters. Taking the time to learn how to run and win makes the difference. We see local leaders win, not because they have unlimited bank accounts, but because they learn how to organize a successful grassroots campaign, without expensive consultants.

While it's easy to feel that some things will never change in your community and nation, change can happen faster than you expect. Early last year, a small group of Wisconsin men and women began talking about the importance of local politics, especially the impact it has on the education system. A week later, they were filing paperwork to create a local organization with the goal of getting more people involved in running for office. Now, a year later, three of their members are running for office in their districts. They've played it smart by getting trained and implementing the fundamentals of effective campaigning. We agree with Ed Willing, the group's executive director: "Progressives have been doing this for well over 100 years and they have succeeded far too often. It’s time we learn the playbook."

We see huge potential for generational change in the new leaders stepping up to serve. Check out other stories of local successes, like this Montana couple who became instant activists in just a few weeks. We feel privileged to train citizens, not politicians. I'm excited about what's going to happen in 2013 and hope you jump on board.

Keep America Free,

Ned Ryun
