Narrated by actor Martin Sheen of West Wing, this extraordinary documentary takes viewers on a fascinating journey through the heady days of the Gideon decision through the present day, and examines the challenges still facing the indigent defense system.
6 p.m. - Moderated Panel Discussion
Apanel of federal and state prosecutors and defenders moderated by Peter L. Zimroth, Partner, Arnold & Porter LLP, former Corporation Counsel of the City of New York, will discuss what the landmark decision did or did not do for people accused of crime and what needs to happen to fulfill the promise of Gideon.
