Lucas--
Last week, I received the endorsement of not one, but two, incredibly important organizations - Emily's List and the
Amalgamated Transit Union. I don't need to tell you how honored I am.
Emily's List has worked hard for women's political empowerment in America. After historic victories in 2012 nationally, I am proud to have the support of Emily's List on my local race here in New York City.
As issues from gender equality to paid sick leave take center stage in local politics, together we can make 2013 the year for women in New York City government.
Please join our campaign at http://www.yettakurland.com/volunteer.
As we fight for women's empowerment we must remember that all women, and
all New Yorkers deserve a seat at the table, and an opportunity for fair work conditions. That is why I am honored to have received the endorsement of the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU), and am honored to stand with them in their struggle for working New Yorkers.
We need New York City to be a City for all of us. That is what the bus drivers of ATU's Local 1181 are fighting for, as they continue to stand out in the cold week after week.
Emily's List and ATU join the Women's Democratic Club of New York, the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, District Council 37, Transit Workers Union Local 100, Communications Workers of America Local 1180, Local 372, The NYS Machinists District 15, Voterbook NYC, Chelsea Midtown Democrats, The McManus Democratic Club, and numerous other organizations supporting our campaign.
But I still need your help. If you have a few hours to help contact voters in the West Village, Chelsea and Hell's Kitchen, or if you would like to host a house party in your neighborhood, please sign up at http://www.yettakurland.com/volunteer.
Together we will make a better city possible.
Thank you,
Yetta
