Public Advocate-Elect Letitia James to Hold 1st Transition Town Hall Meeting

New York, NY – On Monday, December 9th at 5:30 pm, Councilwoman and Public Advocate-Elect Letitia "Tish" James will host the first transition town hall meeting as part of her effort to make the transition inclusive and allow New Yorkers to shape the Public Advocate's initiatives. Along with James, members of the transition team will attend the town hall meeting and take input from local leaders, members of the not-for-profit sector, and residents.

The event will be held at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, The City University of New York, 524 West 59th Street, New York, NY (Between 10th and 11th Avenues) - 9th Floor Conference Room

About Letitia "Tish" James: A Brooklyn native, Tish James has been elected to serve as the New York City Public Advocate. She has been a City Council member since 2003. During her tenure in the Council, Tish distinguished herself as a powerful progressive leader who championed working families, helping pass paid-sick leave, living-wage legislation, tenant protections, and various progressive measures. Prior to the City Council, James served as public defender in the Legal Aid Society, as an assistant state attorney general (Brooklyn region) and as a top-level aide in the State Assembly.
