
Man Yin Li accused her landlord of trying to poison her and filed suit for $25,000 in damages.
When the case was scheduled for trial, the Kings County Civil Court granted Man an adjournment, but warned that the case needed to be ready to proceed on that date.
Because she later appeared without any witnesses, her case was dismissed. And on appeal, the Appellate Term, First Department, had little sympathy for the lady's plight--finding that no basis to disturb the dismissal had been presented.
Oh, Man.
