Dear Lucas,
This afternoon I announced that I will be seeking another term in Congress.
There is still so much that we need to accomplish, including passing comprehensive immigration reform, creating new jobs so that the economy continues to grow, ensuring that all Americans have access to affordable, quality healthcare, and helping our President pass a progressive agenda despite Republican opposition. I don't believe in quitting during the middle of the battle.
Tonight, I will sit down with Reverend Al Sharpton on his show, Politics Nation, to expand on my reasons for running. The show airs from 6-6:30PM EST on MSNBC. I hope you can tune in. And if you can't, please take a moment to read an op-ed I wrote today for the New York Daily News.
I can't tell you how excited I am for the next six months. I look forward to discussing the important issues facing the 13th District and my plan to move New York City forward.
