THEY'VE GOT A REAL CHALLENGE THIS CYCLE

Lucas -- You read the news, but I wanted to share some inside strategy you won't see in the papers.

Here's the math: Right now, Democrats hold a five seat Senate majority. But we're defending 20 seats, including seven in states President Obama lost.

It'll be extremely close: Nate Silver projects that control of the entire Senate could hinge on defeating Mitch McConnell. And throw this into the equation: More than $2 million has already been spent on McConnell's race in Kentucky.

We're facing a real challenge this cycle. Top Republican strategists have said that 2014 is their best hope to retake the Senate -- and that if they don't, they may not have a chance to do it again for several elections.

If the Republicans control the House and the Senate, the effects could be dire. Obamacare, Medicare, Social Security, the environment, and so many of the other issues that we care about could be in jeopardy. The future of the Supreme Court would be at stake as well. All of this explains why the GOP is pushing to hard to take control.

But there's one thing the GOP hasn't accounted for: You. You're already helping us go on the offense against Mitch McConnell and vulnerable Republicans across the country. Together, we can stop a Republican takeover. It all comes down to you.

Thanks for your support,

Republican Disgrace of the Month

The Republicans just launched a plan to strip every single cent of Obamacare's funding. And if Democrats don't go along with this revolting scheme that would leave 32 million uninsured, top Republicans have vowed to shut down government.

It's despicable: The Republicans will hold the entire nation hostage unless Obamacare is completely eliminated.

Stand with President Obama and Democrats and denounce Republicans who would completely shut down the government just to destroy Obamacare.

The GOP Senate primaries are turning into a circus!

The Republican Senate primaries are a complete circus!

It's a circus: in over a dozen states, elephant-on-elephant conflict is raging as Republicans fight an internal battle over the future of their party.

In some states, unpopular Republican incumbents are finding themselves challenged by even more extreme candidates. In others, the same extreme Republicans that you helped defeat in past elections are back for another go. But in each of these states, the Republicans are showing their true colors with extreme positions on Medicare, Social Security, and access to contraception.

The winners of this GOP Primary Palooza may very well be the candidates with the most extreme positions on all of these issues -- which is why we need to be ready to take on whoever emerges. Above all, we need to stop the next Rand Paul or Ted Cruz from reaching the Senate. Will you pitch in $3 today to help keep extreme Republicans out of the Senate?

Candidate Spotlight: Democrat Michelle Nunn, Georgia

Big news: Michelle Nunn, an incredibly strong Democratic candidate, just entered the U.S. Senate race in Georgia.

As the CEO of a large nonprofit, Michelle has dedicated her life to philanthropy. And she just kicked off her campaign with a bus tour of service projects across Georgia.

A new poll shows Michelle tied or leading every Republican Senate candidate in Georgia. But Republicans are already scrambling to demonize Michelle and destroy her chances before she even gets off the ground.

Don’t let the Republicans tear Michelle down! Pledge your support for Michelle Nunn.

Who's bankrolling McConnell's Super PAC?

Only two percent of donors to the Super PAC supporting Mitch McConnell are from Kentucky. More than three quarters are donors to Karl Rove's Super PAC - and Donald Trump even gave $50,000.
