QUITTING TIME?

Robert Rubscha was denied unemployment benefits because he voluntarily left his job "without good cause." (After working for some 29 years as a mechanical design engineer, Rubscha accepted a severance package in fear that he would be laid off.)

Because he freely accepted that "early retirement" compensation, the Appellate Division, Third Department, agreed that the guy didn't qualify for unemployment.

That sure was retiring.
