M.P., an emergency medical services supervisor, was fired for misconduct after he photographed a computer screen which listed a 911 caller's "confidential and privileged" medical information. Apparently, M.P. posted the picture on his Facebook page with the caption, "can't make this up."
When the case reached the Appellate Division, First Department, it thought the guy's behavior (which he knew was a violation of department rules), comprised a "serious breach of trust," which supported his discharge. (Given the circumstances, the outcome didn't "shock [the court's] sense of fairness.")
Didn't make that up.
