HELP SAVE ANA

Help Save Ana Almeida

Ana Almeida, a mother of two, was diagnosed with Leukemia earlier this year. Her only chance of survival is a bone marrow transplant. Unfortunately no match was found in the Be The Match Registry of 10.5 million donors nor in the registries all over the world.

She is desperately encouraging everyone to join the registry but specially the Brazilian Community. Racial and ethnic heritage are very important factors in finding a genetic match and there is not enough racial/ethnic minorities in the registry. Ana is Brazilian and is encouraging the Brazilian Community to join. She wants to see her young daughters grow up and be able to share in all of the milestone events in their lives.

Adding more diverse members increases the likelihood that Ana and other patients like Ana, will find a life-saving match.

You can also help in many different ways:

  1. Volunteer in our office or any of the marrow drives in your area.
  2. Help us hold a marrow drive.
  3. Consider making a tax-deductive contribution. Your donation will:
  4. Help cover the $100 cost of adding each new donor to the Be The Match Registry.

Help provide financial assistance to cover the patients out-of-pocket expenses related to their treatment.
