STEVE'S WOOD FIRE(D) PIZZA

Steve's Wood Fired Pizza

9180 Glades Road, Boca Raton, Florida

The joint was jumping on Sunday afternoon.

"BIG" Meatballs with Cheese

Two home-made veal metaballs (1/2 pound) topped with home-made tomato sauce -- $6.99

Not the most visually appealing dish, but it was quite tasty.

Chicken Cutlet Parm Plate

Chicken breast coated with seasoned Italian bread crumbs and deep-friend; smoothered in mozzarella cheese -- $6.99

(Unfortunately, this particular dish came out dry; over-cooked)

Shrimp Pomodoro

Twelve shrimp tossed over spaghetti -- $14.99

(The pasta and accompanying sauce didn't dazzle, but the shrimp were quite fresh.)

Also tried one of Steve's famous pizzas -- a Margherita

Home-made tomato sauce, shredded mozzarella chese, fresh slice tomato and fresh basil.

The large -- at $17.99 -- was a bit on the small side (only six slices), but it was all devoured.

That's Steve (on the right).

His menu prominently features the following quote:

"I have a passion for pizza that began when I was growing up in New York, however, I realized that most pizzas were under cooked and not very good. I decided to create a 'well done' pizza using the best ingredients and my 22 years of experience cooking in wood fired ovens. Join me as I share my well done pizzas and delicious entrees with you."
