STAND UP FOR BACKGROUND CHECKS

Lucas -

After last week, I have had a lot on my mind. Like you, my thoughts and prayers have been with those in Boston and Texas.

While most of the discussion has focused on how to keep our communities safe from terrorism, Washington missed a major opportunity to keep us safe from the terror of gun violence felt every day in America.

Last week, 46 Senators voted against making common sense gun safety legislation a priority in order to make this country a safer place.

For those of you who already added your name to our petition to voice our outrage, thank you. If you have not had a chance, please add your name here.

Passing this legislation becomes more and more important every day. You and I have always taken on the fights that no one else will and fought until we won. Our country simply cannot afford more preventable gun violence because of the lack of background checks. Please add your name now to stand up for background checks.

Let’s make sure we stick together. Add your name here or share with family or friends that would also sign.

Yours truly,

Louise Slaughter
