Undocumented College Students
An Invitation to Participate in Dissertation
By Leslie Jo (LJ) Shelton (April 10, 2013)
I am seeking student participants for my dissertation research learning about the experiences of undocumented Latino/a college students. I am currently a 4th year doctoral student in Higher Education at Michigan State University.
I chose my dissertation topic in hopes that it will help share students' stories and ultimately improve how educators serve undocumented college students. To complete this goal, I am holding phone interviews of approximately 75-minutes to learn from undocumented Latino/a students currently enrolled at a 4-year institution anywhere in the U.S., who have at least a 2.0 GPA, and who are of sophomore, junior, or senior level standing, or who have recently graduated from college in the past two years.
Also, a note on confidentiality: Please do not send any student names or contact info directly to me unless students provide written permission to do so. All participants will also have pseudonyms and no names of specific colleges/ universities would be used in my work.
