IT'S BEEN 32 YEARS?

Dear Lucas,

Let's face it. These are still tough times.

As we enter our 32nd year of helping people with HIV/AIDS, the need for GMHC services is greater than ever. Consider the facts:

Every 9 ½ minutes someone in the U.S. is infected by HIV

Right now there are over 1.2 million Americans with HIV/AIDS

Since the beginning of the epidemic, more than 641,976 people have died nationwide

Clearly, our battle against HIV/AIDS is far from over. And that’s why your renewed support is more important than ever.

In 1983, GMHC’s Executive Director wrote “diseases don’t go away by wishing them away.” People coping with HIV/AIDS need concrete services, caring support and effective advocacy – not wishful thinking.

That’s what GMHC is all about. We were the first in the fight, and we won’t stop, no matter how long it takes.

Lucas, I hope you’re still with us in this fight. Day in and day out, it is support from dedicated friends like you that makes GMHC’s work possible.

Our goal is a world where there is no need for GMHC – a world where HIV/AIDS is a thing of the past. But for now, our work is needed more than ever. And so is your support. Please renew today with your most generous gift.

Thank you,

Marjorie J. Hill, Ph.D.
Chief Executive Officer

P.S. If you have already renewed your support, please accept my warmest gratitude. But if you haven't had a chance to respond just yet, I hope you will renew today with a gift.
