ANIMAL RACKETEERS!

Animals need your help in final two weeks of legislative session

There are two weeks remaining in the 2013 Florida legislative session. We need your help to pass two important animal protection bills that are awaiting votes in the Florida Senate. The Senate will convene again on Wednesday, April 24.

Senate Bill 504 would strengthen Florida's animal cruelty law by specifying that a person who commits multiple acts of cruelty against one animal or acts of cruelty against more than one animal may be charged with a separate offense for each act, and by making animal fighting punishable under Florida's anti-racketeering (RICO) law.

Senate Bill 650 would prohibit the artificial coloring and sale of baby chickens, ducklings and rabbits.

Please contact your state senator and urge him or her to vote in support of Senate Bill 504 and Senate Bill 650.

A quick phone call or email is all that is needed. For example:

"Dear Senator ______,
As your constituent, I am calling to ask that you please support Senate Bill 504 and Senate Bill 650, two important bills that would help animals in Florida."
