When Adam LeConte's ex-girlfriend, Kyungmi Lee, refused to give back Bubkas (his maltese dog), Adam filed suit in the New York County Civil Court.
Since the animal had been gifted to Adam, and Kyungmi only served as temporary caregiver, Adam was eventually found to be the rightful owner. Kyungmi's objection to the animal's crating failed to persuade the judge to rule in her favor because there was no evidence that the activity harmed or otherwise endangered the dog. (It also didn't help the lady's case that her papers were seen as "woefully inadequate.")
So, who really ended up with bubkas?
