The RJC just made history - we successfully launched the largest, most comprehensive, and most sophisticated two-day grassroots outreach effort EVER in the Jewish community!
Last week, RJC members took to the streets and phones in the Jewish communities of Cleveland, South Florida, and Philadelphia to get the message out about Obama's record.
Our members accomplished these incredible figures:
- 75,000 pieces of educational literature dropped at the homes of Jewish voters in the three battleground areas
- Over 50,000 phone calls made to Jewish voters in the three battleground states
- Participation by over 1,000 RJC members from across the country
- RJC members from Atlanta, Dallas, Los Angeles and Israel hosted phone banks to call into the battleground areas
The extraordinary efforts by our energized and informed members garnered enormous Jewish and national press.
In fact, President Obama was in Palm Beach trying to stop the erosion of support in the Jewish community on Sunday the 9th. Be sure to watch this video of our members rallying outside of the Obama campaign event on that day. Click here for a write-up about our initiative in Haaretz. More press coverage can be found on the RJC website's "Newsroom" section here .
The RJC also featured high profile and well respected elected officials and candidates in the GOP as part of the two-day push. Highlights included Ambassador John Bolton, Congressman Allen West, and U.S. House candidate Adam Hasner in South Florida, Congressman Jim Renacci and U.S. Senate candidate Josh Mandel in Cleveland, and Congressman Pat Meehan and Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick in Philadelphia.
I would like to remind you that this was only the beginning of our grassroots efforts in the Jewish community. We will continue to phone bank and do literature drops for the remainder of the campaign.
We know there is a real opportunity for lasting change in the Jewish community. We also know that the Jewish vote will not be handed to us - we must continue to keep the pressure on and that's exactly what we plan to do!
We ask you to adopt these three RJC action items moving forward:
We know there is a real opportunity for lasting change in the Jewish community. We also know that the Jewish vote will not be handed to us - we must continue to keep the pressure on and that's exactly what we plan to do!
We ask you to adopt these three RJC action items moving forward:
- Volunteer for an RJC phone bank in your community
- Get one friend or family member to join the RJC eTeam
- Make a contribution to the RJC for our critical election year efforts
Remember in November,
