Lucas,
Thank you.
Last week, Public Citizen activists across the country picked up their telephones and urged their senators to oppose the Independent Agency Regulatory Analysis Act (S. 3468).
This bill would have created new ways for Wall Street cronies to obstruct independent agencies like the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and required those agencies to add onerous layers of analysis before taking action against corporate recklessness.
The bill was moving quickly -- so quickly that making phone calls to Senate offices was absolutely the most effective way to stop it in its tracks.
Thanks to you, we succeeded -- for now.
Learn more about the Independent Agency Regulatory Analysis Act and how it was stopped in its tracks.
Take a moment to celebrate this victory.
But be aware that corporate cronies in Congress are poised once again to try pushing this bill, along with a host of additional Big Business giveaways, through the legislative process after the November elections.
We'll be working hard to make sure they don't get what they want.
We won't be able to do it without you.
Thanks for all you do,
Rick Claypool
