Dear Friends and Neighbors,
We've won another battle against Trade Fair supermarket.
As the photos below show, Trade Fair had illegally erected extensions and shelving that blocked pedestrian access, created unsafe conditions and blighted the neighborhood. Despite protestations from the owners of Trade Fair that the structures were legal, the structures have now been removed. See the photos below.

Trade Fair had previously been fined $25,000 for illegally constructing a shed on the city sidewalk on 75th Street off of 37th Avenue. We got them to remove that shed, also.
I hope this will send a clear message to all the merchants in the district that the breaking of the law will not be tolerated. I am actively inspecting storefronts and other areas of the community with city agencies to be sure that they comply with the law. If you notice other violations (and there are many which we are continuing to fight) please notify my office.
Jackson Heights and the rest of my district are beautiful communities and I intend to fight to keep them that way. Thanks for your help and support.
Sincerely,
Danny Dromm
