We are delighted to invite you to a book talk and reception with U.S. District Court Judge Frederic Block to celebrate his recently published book, Disrobed: An Inside Look at the Life and Work of a Federal Trial Judge (Thomson Reuters 2012).
Judge Block, who sits in the Eastern District of New York, will read from his book, a unique, behind-the-scenes look into his life and some of the trials he presided over in his 17-year tenure on the bench. His book offers a perspective on some of the most high profile, talked about legal cases over the last 20 years.
A reception will follow, where Judge Block will sign copies of the book available for purchase at the event.

Judge Block was appointed a United States District Judge for the Eastern District of New York by President Bill Clinton on September 29, 1994, and in 2005, he assumed senior status. Prior to his appointment, he was a partner in the law firm of Block, Amelkin & Hamburger, in Smithtown, New York. His practice encompassed civil and criminal trial and appellate litigation on both the state and federal levels. Early in his career, he served as a law clerk for the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Third Judicial Department. He received a B.A. from Indiana University in 1956, and an LL.B. Degree from Cornell Law School in 1959.
