JESSICA'S FIRED UP

Dear Lucas,

I am fired up and ready to go!

I was honored to be in Charlotte as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention. I'm still feeling inspired by the memorable speeches and electricity that ran through the arena.

First Lady Michelle Obama was passionate and powerful. Joe Biden was emotional, wry, and forceful. Keynote Speaker Julian Castro lived up to the hype. President Clinton gave the speech of a lifetime. And all that happened before President Barack Obama so eloquently reminded us why we need him in the White House for the next four years.

It was also a convention that celebrated American diversity and clearly put women's rights and equal rights front and center. It was a week that made me proud to be a Democrat and demonstrated, yet again, that ours is the party of progress and inclusion.

Now it's time to make sure we win in November. If you're willing to take a day trip to Pennsylvania, or spend some time making phone calls, please let me know. New York may not be in play. But there are plenty of battleground states where we can make a difference.

On a personal note, I'm pleased to share that while in Charlotte I was honored as a rising star of the Democratic Party. Congresswoman Maloney and a few other friends were able to join me for that fun and special event.

I hope to see you soon out there on the campaign trail. And if you are celebrating, I wish you a very happy, healthy, and sweet New Year. L'Shana Tova.

Best,
Jessica
