NYCLA Seeks Experienced Insurance Law Attorneys to Assist Hurricane Victims
You can help provide legal counseling through pro bono program
NYCLA is expanding its Legal Counseling Project to include Insurance Law, with the hopes of providing assistance to the victims of Hurricane Sandy. If you are a NYCLA member in good standing and have at least 3 years of Insurance Law experience and would like to provide legal assistance to those devastated by the storm so that they can begin to rebuild their lives, please contact Lois Davis at ldavis@nycla.org.
For over 20 years, NYCLA’s Pro Bono Department has been providing complimentary legal assistance to the public in a variety of ways including the Legal Counseling Project, one of our longest running programs. This project has assited thousands of individuals, providing limited legal advice in the areas of landlord/tenant, consumer bankruptcy, employment, and family law. Volunteer attorneys review documents, answer questions, discuss areas of concern that the individual should be aware of when entering into certain agreements, and point out various methods whereby the individual can either correct a problem or seek appropriate assistance and direction.
