COMPTROLLER LIU, PASTORS, BUDDHIST TZU CHI FOUNDATION PROVIDE EMERGENCY THANKSGIVING CASH AID FOR SANDY VICTIMS

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Comptroller John C. Liu and Rev. Dr. Gary V. Simpson of Concord Baptist Church, working with the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation and pastors, will provide emergency cash assistance and aid packages on Thanksgiving Day to more than 1,000 families whose own churches and homes were damaged in the Rockaways, Red Hook, and Canarsie neighborhoods by Superstorm Sandy.

The following clergy are assisting: Rev. Michael Sniffen, The Church of St. Luke and St. Matthew; Pastor Darren Ferguson, Mt. Carmel Baptist Church; Pastor J.D. Williams, St. John's Baptist Church; Rev. John Credle, Calvary Baptist Church of Red Hook; Rev. Dr. Clive Neil, Bedford Central Presbyterian Church; Rev. Lawrence Aker III, Cornerstone Baptist Church; Rev. Shaun Lee, Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church; Pastor Jeff Thompson, Amity Baptist Church; Rev. Russell Marquis, Shiloh Baptist Church.
