When a process serving company didn't get paid, it sued the attorney that sent over the work.
After the Nassau County District Court found the lawyer responsible for the $4,080 in unpaid invoices, the Appellate Term, Second Department, reversed, because it thought that the company was really working for the attorney's clients (rather than the attorney), which meant that the process server needed to look to the clients (and not the lawyer) for payment.
Was justice served?
