HONORING RICHARD GIRGENTI

Good afternoon --

As you know, this has been a remarkable year for the Commission - working with a broad coalition, we achieved passage of a far reaching bill greatly expanding the use of DNA in New York to fight crime and protect the innocent, continued our efforts to reduce illegal guns on our city streets, and created new and vital initiatives on the growing issue of cyber crime.

On December 3rd, we will be coming together to celebrate the work of the last year and honor the work of Richard Girgenti, Principal at KPMG Forensic, and formerly a Senior Prosecutor for the Manhattan DA's office as well as the New York State Director of Criminal Justice, and Commissioner of the Division of Criminal Justice Services (1991-1995). Richard has been a tremendous board member for the Crime Commission and has been instrumental in supporting our efforts.

We will also look to the future of our city, as four of the major candidates for New York City mayor in 2013 will join us for an intimate discussion on the issues of importance to the law enforcement community and the city as a whole.

We have put together ticket and sponsorship packages for our top supporters that include special reserved seating and prominent recognition at the event. You can find more details on the below invite or by visiting our website here.

Thank you for all of the support you have shown the Commission--we look forward to celebrating another year with you on December 3rd.

Best,

Richard M. Aborn
