Fort Lauderdale Fire-Rescue and the Firefighters Benevolent Association are sponsoring the 2012 Thanksgiving Food Drive. Residents are invited to donate non-perishable food and share the spirit of Thanksgiving with Fort Lauderdale families in need.
Non-perishable food may be donated at any Fort Lauderdale Fire-Rescue Station from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week, from November 7 – 20, 2012. Donations are also being accepted at City Hall, 100 N. Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale.
Food collected for the Thanksgiving Food Drive will be given to families in need throughout the Fort Lauderdale area. The drive will accept all canned foods and other non-perishable food items, including boxed mashed potatoes, canned yams, canned pumpkin, cranberry sauce, rolls, bread stuffing and other traditional thanksgiving foods. The drive is designed to help those in the Fort Lauderdale community who are in need.
Although the food drive is for Thanksgiving, other items that can be considered for donation arecanned tuna, canned vegetables, canned fruit, bagged beans, bagged rice, cereals and tomato sauce. The Fort Lauderdale Fire-Rescue and the Firefighters Benevolent Association is grateful for any donations and thanks participants for their generosity in advance.
