Dear friends,
The last few weeks have been filled with both incredible challenges and awe-inspiring generosity as New Yorkers from all five boroughs have come together to rebuild after Hurricane Sandy.
Public Advocate Bill de Blasio has been working to bring much-needed resources to the hardest-hit communities and our office is continuing to mobilize volunteers to New Yorkers get back on their feet.

As part of this recovery effort, the Public Advocate's office has produced a series of documents to help New Yorkers navigate the different types of available disaster assistance. Regardless of whether you had flood damage, power loss, or saw a decrease in income because of the storm, you may be eligible for help.
- Guide for small businesses
- Assistance for homeowners & renters
- Help with lost income (English & Spanish)
- Temporary housing
The deadline to apply for assistance is fast-approaching so please help spread the word.
If you have questions or need additional assistance, you can contact our help desk at 212.669.7250 or send us an email at sandy@pubadvocate.nyc.gov. I also encourage you to follow @billdeblasio on Twitter or become a fan on Facebook for real-time updates.
