BP MARKOWITZ RECOGNIZES SPECIAL HONOREES AT BROOKLYN JEWISH HERITAGE NIGHT, HELPS LAUNCH FIRST WEBSITE ON THE HISTORY OF JEWS IN BROOKLYN

On Wednesday, May 30, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz and the Brooklyn Jewish Heritage Committee hosted the Brooklyn Jewish Heritage Night Salute to Israel ceremony and reception at Brooklyn Borough Hall. Earlier in the evening, BP Markowitz joined the Brooklyn Jewish Historical Initiative and the Brooklyn Historical Society to launch the first website dedicated to the history of Jewish Brooklynites ( www.brooklynjewish.org ).

Special presentations were made to this year's event honorees:  

• Shternie Raskin, director, Gan Menachem Kiddie Korner Preschool
• Rabbi Jack Meyer, director, Misaskin
• Hadassah, The Women's Zionist Organization of America, Inc. Centennial Anniversary
