Dear Friends of New York Family,
If you know a wonderful teacher, we know a wonderful way you can help to honor him or her. It's called the Blackboard Awards , and it's a simple way for parents to celebrate schools, principals and teachers of excellence throughout the five boroughs.
To nominate a teacher, visit blackboardawards.com . The deadline for nominations is April 22nd, and the ceremony will take place on June 18th.
It's no secret that teachers make a huge difference in the lives of our children, and we hope you'll take a few minutes to nominate one of your favorite educators for the 2012 Blackboard Awards. Last year we received over 1,200 teacher nominations from New York City parents, and we aim to make this year our biggest one yet!
We welcome nominations for teachers in nursery school through high school, and from all educational communities--public, private, charter, or parochial. We also encourage you to spread the word about the Blackboard Awards to other parents in your school community. In our experience, the awards not only help give teachers the recognition they deserve, but benefit the reputation of the entire school.
You can learn more about the Blackboard Awards and read profiles of last year's winners at blackboardawards.com .
After you do, lease think of that certain teacher who adds so much to your child's life and your school community. Let us know about him or her , and let that teacher know his or her efforts have not gone unnoticed!
We look forward to hearing from you,
